Trade Republic has become one of the first fully licensed banks in Europe to obtain the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) license, granted by Germany's BaFin regulator. With over 8 million clients and 100 billion euros in assets, Trade Republic can now offer regulated crypto-asset services to clients across Europe. The platform provides access to more than 50 crypto-assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP, with a fixed commission of one euro per order. Digital assets are held in cold wallets by Trade Republic Custody GmbH, and legal safeguards against insolvency are in place. Crypto.com has secured a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) license after acquiring A.N. Allnew Investments Ltd, authorized by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. The MiFID license allows Crypto.com to offer a broad range of financial instruments, including securities and derivatives, to eligible users across the European Economic Area. This follows Crypto.com's receipt of a MiCA license in January 2025. CEO Kris Marszalek stated that these regulatory approvals support the company's expansion of product offerings in Europe. On the XRP Ledger, Schuman Financial's EURØP has become the first MiCA-compliant euro-pegged stablecoin to be integrated, enabling regulated euro settlements, decentralized finance (DeFi) activity, and tokenized assets on the platform. Braza Group, a Brazilian foreign exchange bank, has launched USDB, a USD-pegged stablecoin backed by US and Brazilian bonds, on the XRP Ledger. In April, Braza moved $1.08 billion in 24 hours, ranking sixth in interbank operations at Brazil's central bank. The company also offers BBRL, a real-pegged stablecoin. Braza projects that USDB could represent up to 30% of Brazil's dollar stablecoin market by the end of 2025.
