The Twitter account of DB, a source for cryptocurrency news, was hacked, leading to the dissemination of false information regarding the utility of the Trump Meme token. Initially, a tweet claimed that the $TRUMP token would have real utility, which prompted a 20% price increase before the news was debunked. A trader, acting on the misinformation, withdrew $504,820 in USDC from Binance to purchase $TRUMP, only to lose $28,820 within two minutes after the news was confirmed as fake. Following the incident, DB's account was reported to be used for further misleading posts, including a fake listing for an ETF. In a separate development, a project linked to Donald Trump, World Liberty Financial, purchased $100,000 worth of SEI tokens, with the transaction involving 541,242 SEI tokens. This purchase came after the project transferred $25 million USDC to a separate address last week.
