The Solana-based memecoin launchpad BonkFun had maintained a leading position in weekly revenue, token launches, graduations, and active addresses for four consecutive weeks, even surpassing Ethereum in seven-day revenue. At its peak, BonkFun held a 57.4% market share among memecoin launchpads. However, a shift occurred in early August 2025 when PumpFun overtook BonkFun in several key metrics, including 24-hour trading volume, revenue, token launches, graduated tokens, and active addresses. By August 7, PumpFun had claimed the number one spot in market share with 63%, leaving BonkFun with 26.6%. PumpFun also surpassed all other memecoin launchpads combined in 24-hour revenue, controlling 52.4% of the launchpad market volume, equivalent to $514 million, while BonkFun held 32.1% with $315 million. Despite this, BonkFun continued to lead in the number of bonded tokens and number of traders, albeit by a narrow margin. In terms of graduation rates, LetsBonkFun led with 2.04%, followed by Bags at 0.87% and PumpFun at 0.73%. Additionally, the memecoin market is valued at approximately $125 billion, supported by platforms like MemeMarketFun that provide structure and gamified prediction markets. Meanwhile, the memecoin $PENGU has recently surpassed $BONK to become the top memecoin on Solana and is set to be listed on the Arkham Exchange for spot and perpetual trading starting August 8. Other tokens such as $HYPE and $ERA will also be listed on the Arkham Exchange as USDT perpetual contracts. Bitcoin showed positive price movement during this period as well.
