Club Deportivo Guadalajara confirmed it has acquired left-sided player Bryan “Cotorro” González from Pachuca, making him the team’s fourth reinforcement ahead of the Liga MX Apertura 2025. The 22-year-old arrives after featuring for the Tuzos in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored against RB Salzburg. González, who debuted with Pachuca in 2020, logged more than 100 first-division appearances, won the Apertura 2022 title and the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, and has one senior cap for Mexico. At Chivas he is expected to fill the vacancy left by Mateo Chávez following the latter’s move to Europe and to provide width and offensive support on the left flank in coach Gabriel Milito’s system. His signing follows the arrivals of Efraín Álvarez, Richard Ledezma and Diego Campillo as the Guadalajara club revamps its squad before its league opener at León on 19 July. Chivas’ first scheduled home match is 26 July against Atlético San Luis, with the originally slated Jornada 1 meeting with Tigres pushed to 17 September due to ongoing renovations at Estadio Akron.
