¡ES OFICIAL! 👹 Hugo González es el nuevo portero del Toluca https://t.co/8odkndtKK9
Toluca FC, the reigning Liga MX champion, has signed veteran Mexican goalkeeper Hugo González to bolster its squad for the Apertura 2025 season. The 34-year-old arrives from Mazatlán FC at the request of head coach Antonio “Turco” Mohamed, who previously worked with the player at América and Monterrey. González is expected to take over a position that proved unstable during the Clausura 2025 campaign, when injuries to Spain’s Pau López and inconsistent performances from Luis García raised concerns despite Toluca’s title run. With more than 400 league appearances, four Liga MX championships and multiple domestic cup wins, González brings experience and leadership that the club believes will solidify its last line of defence.
