🙌 @KapitalBankMx to Acquire Broker-Dealer, Asset Management, and Operational Banking Assets from Grupo Financiero Intercam https://t.co/TpAFGV5Z3n #Fintech #FintechNews
Mexico's Finance Ministry has announced agreements for the sale of key operations from two financial institutions, CIBanco and Intercam Grupo Financiero, both previously flagged by the U.S. Department of the Treasury for alleged money laundering. CIBanco's fiduciary business will be transferred to Banco Multiva, which has committed to managing the operations responsibly with advisory support. Meanwhile, Kapital Bank will acquire a significant portion of Intercam Grupo Financiero's operations, including assets from Intercam Banco and its affiliated entities. The transactions ensure the continuity of existing contracts and the protection of trusts and their beneficiaries. The acquisitions have been vetted by K2 Integrity and are being coordinated with both U.S. Treasury and Mexican authorities. These moves follow the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network's (FinCEN) extension of the enforcement date of related orders issued on June 25.
