Al Jazeera Video Shows Israeli Drone Strike That Killed Gaza Child

Al Jazeera on 17 Aug released video it says was filmed in Gaza showing an Israeli reconnaissance drone firing a missile at a young girl as she carried a water container, killing her instantly. The broadcaster said the child can be clearly identified in the footage, which was described as exclusive and unedited. The images have renewed scrutiny of Israel’s conduct in the war, now in its second year. Al Jazeera noted that more than 62,000 people have been killed in Gaza since hostilities began, a figure it attributed to local authorities. Israeli officials have not yet publicly addressed the incident shown in the video.
