The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating rapidly, with severe impacts on children and women. Of the 1.1 million children in Gaza, nearly all require mental health or psychosocial support, and many have been out of school for almost two years. The 11-week Israeli blockade on food supplies this year has put all children under five at risk of acute malnutrition. UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf highlighted that approximately 112 children face daily risks of malnutrition. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that one million women and girls in Gaza are confronting mass starvation, violence, and abuse. The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that 44,000 children are orphaned and over one million children suffer from psychological trauma. The enclave, home to nearly two million people, remains cut off from aid, exacerbating hunger and the overall humanitarian crisis.
