The Israeli Defense Forces said Wednesday that the evacuation of Gaza City is "inevitable," calling on all remaining residents to move to the southern part of the enclave before the military begins its next phase of operations against Hamas. IDF Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee circulated a map highlighting what the army says are vacant areas in central and southern Gaza and promised that families who relocate will receive tents, water and other assistance. He added that the military has started laying a new water pipeline and preparing aid distribution hubs to accommodate the displaced population. The announcement further heightens pressure on civilians as the conflict approaches its 691st day. Gaza’s Health Ministry said ten people, among them two children, died of malnutrition in the last 24 hours, bringing the reported starvation toll to 313. The White House, meanwhile, said President Donald Trump will chair a meeting later Wednesday to discuss a comprehensive “day-after” plan for Gaza.
