Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have resulted in a high number of Palestinian casualties over several days in August 2025. According to Gaza health authorities and multiple medical sources, at least 58 Palestinians were killed within a 24-hour period on August 20, including many displaced persons and aid seekers. Throughout the period, Israeli strikes targeted various locations, including displacement tents, residential areas, and schools sheltering displaced families. Notably, an Israeli attack on Amr Ibn Al-Ass School in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City killed at least 12 displaced Palestinians and injured dozens more. Additional strikes hit areas such as Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, Al-Qarara, and Al-Shaaf in Al-Tuffah neighborhood. Several incidents involved drone strikes and artillery shelling, resulting in civilian deaths, including children and entire families. The ongoing attacks have caused widespread casualties and destruction across the Gaza Strip since at least August 17, with daily death tolls ranging from dozens to over fifty Palestinians, many of whom were civilians seeking aid or shelter.
