In response to the situation, foreign ministers from Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain condemned Israel's recent offensive in Gaza and its announcement to establish a permanent military presence in the city. Spain also announced plans to propose a European Union initiative aimed at alleviating the famine in Gaza.
