The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued urgent warnings about the critical fuel shortage in Gaza, emphasizing that fuel is essential for operating hospital generators, ambulances, bakeries, and water pumps. Without immediate and large-scale fuel shipments, basic services in Gaza face a complete shutdown, which UNRWA described as a form of collective punishment. The Gaza Ministry of Health has appealed for pressure on relevant parties to allow fuel supplies for generator operation. The World Food Programme (WFP) highlighted that Gaza residents are experiencing severe levels of hunger, with around 500,000 people at risk and aid efforts severely hampered by operational restrictions. UNRWA also reported ongoing attacks on individuals attempting to access food, resulting in numerous casualties. The head of the Palestinian Civil Society Network warned that key sectors, including telecommunications, are on the brink of collapse due to the fuel crisis. Gaza requires approximately 275,000 liters of fuel daily, but currently, less than half of this amount is available, exacerbating the humanitarian situation and threatening the collapse of vital services.
