Doctors and medical staff in Gaza have issued urgent warnings about a growing humanitarian crisis threatening the lives of hundreds of newborns and infants. A severe shortage of baby formula, caused by Israel's ongoing blockade restricting humanitarian aid, has left many babies at risk of death. Mothers, many of whom are malnourished or deceased, are unable to breastfeed, exacerbating the crisis. At Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, hundreds of newborns in incubators face imminent danger due to the lack of formula. Additionally, Gaza's largest hospital, Al Shifa, is grappling with crippling fuel shortages that have forced doctors to place multiple premature babies in a single incubator to keep them alive. The fuel crisis has led to power outages and generator failures, further endangering more than 100 premature infants and approximately 350 dialysis patients. Despite some fuel deliveries, the situation remains critical as the Israeli military campaign and blockade continue to restrict essential supplies and aid into the Gaza Strip.
