Following recent talks in Egypt between a Hamas delegation and mediators, a new American proposal has been put forward regarding the Gaza conflict. According to Israel Hayom, the proposal aims to establish a long-term ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas has expressed willingness to accept the terms of the Witkoff plan related to Gaza and to meet some demands concerning hostages. In parallel diplomatic efforts, Israeli Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, a confidant of Prime Minister Netanyahu, has been actively engaged in discussions to advance the ceasefire and hostage deal. Dermer met in Paris with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani and U.S. envoy Tom Barrack to discuss security arrangements along the Israel-Syria border. Additionally, Dermer held talks with senior Qatari officials in Paris to negotiate the Gaza ceasefire and hostage exchange. Israeli sources indicate that Dermer emphasized to Qatari officials that the ceasefire condition hinges on the release of all hostages. Meanwhile, there are reports that Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz is considering rejoining Netanyahu's government to provide a political safety net for completing a deal with Hamas, particularly if right-wing ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir withdraw.
