A former American subcontractor has told CBS News that Israeli soldiers and security contractors working for the U.S.– and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) repeatedly fired live rounds into crowds of Palestinians waiting for food aid. The witness, employed as a truck driver, said he was later ordered to collect human remains near one of the distribution points. The account aligns with earlier statements by other whistle-blowers and local health officials who accuse GHF of turning its aid stations into "death traps". According to Gaza authorities, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed around the foundation’s sites since operations began in late May. GHF rejected the allegations, telling CBS that its contractors "do not fire on civilians and no one has been shot" at its facilities. The revelations come as the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights sued the administration of President Donald Trump, demanding disclosure of documents related to a $30 million federal grant issued to GHF. The lawsuit claims the funding was approved despite internal objections at the U.S. Agency for International Development and that it may have facilitated violations of international law.
A new eyewitness has confirmed that Israeli forces and American mercenaries fire "indiscriminately" at starving Palestinians seeking food near or at aid sites run by the controversial US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). https://t.co/ZqHrVp0kfu
This is real. Two relatives of personal friends of mine have been shot in the last few weeks while trying to get food for their undernourished families from the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation". One is currently in danger for his life, with no treatment or pain meds available. https://t.co/nsRTlkq8RH
