The White House said on Tuesday that the conflict in Gaza remains “very complex” and was inherited by President Donald Trump from former President Joe Biden’s administration. Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters the administration had “invested a lot of effort and time” in negotiations aimed at securing a cease-fire and the release of hostages. She added that Washington presented Hamas with several “flexible offers,” but the militant group rejected them. Leavitt did not disclose details of the proposals or the next steps, but she stressed that the Trump administration is continuing diplomatic efforts to bring the months-long war to an end.
