Giancarlo Stanton belted his first home run of the 2025 season—a three-run shot—to cap a six-run fifth inning that pulled the New York Yankees within two runs of the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night in Toronto. The Blue Jays had opened an 8–0 advantage behind starter José Berríos, but the right-hander unraveled in the fifth, surrendering RBI singles to DJ LeMahieu and rookie Ben Rice, an RBI double to Aaron Judge and Stanton’s drive to left. Berríos was lifted for reliever Brendon Little after the homer. At the end of the rally, Toronto still led 8–6. The game was in the top of the sixth inning at last update.
