After more than six years of planning and a rare relocation, Atlanta's Truist Park is hosting the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, marking an unprecedented run-up in league history. The MLB All-Star Week commenced with the third annual HBCU Swingman Classic, featuring 50 student-athletes from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) selected by a committee including Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. The Swingman Classic game was broadcast on MLB Network and showcased the talents of these players on a major league field just days before the All-Star Game. The All-Star festivities also include the opening of the Capital One All-Star Village at Cobb Galleria Centre, a large fan experience expected to attract millions of dollars to the metro Atlanta area. Coverage of the events is being provided by various media outlets, including The Atlanta Voice and MLB Network, highlighting the significance of the All-Star Week in Atlanta.
Honestly this is really sick for these players. Every one of these guys plays at an HBCU and is now playing on a big league field days before the MLB All-Star Game is here. Really cool. They’re also studs. Swingman Classic getting underway now on @MLBNetwork https://t.co/03S93U0Wns
