Disney and Pixar will make their latest animated feature, “Elio,” available for digital purchase on 19 August, only two months after its theatrical debut. The studio said the film will reach 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD shelves on 9 September. The accelerated home-entertainment rollout follows a muted box-office performance. “Elio” has taken in roughly $147 million worldwide against an estimated $150 million production budget, ranking as Pixar’s second-lowest theatrical result to date. Critically, the 98-minute family sci-fi adventure has fared better, holding an 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Bonus materials for the home edition include behind-the-scenes footage, a cast and crew Q&A, deleted scenes and a gag reel.
