Pixar Animation Studios released the first teaser for its next original feature, “Hoppers,” on 16 July 2025, confirming that the animated film will open exclusively in theaters on 6 March 2026. Written and directed by “We Bare Bears” creator Daniel Chong, the sci-fi comedy follows Mabel, a 19-year-old animal lover who uses experimental technology to transfer her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver. The undercover mission aims to stop Mayor Jerry’s construction project from destroying a local habitat. Piper Curda voices Mabel, with Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm among the supporting cast. The trailer leans into comparisons with James Cameron’s “Avatar” while signaling a tone that mixes environmental themes, espionage antics and Pixar’s trademark humor. “Hoppers” is the studio’s first major original project announced since the mixed box-office showing of 2025’s “Elio,” and it will arrive nearly two years after the record-breaking success of “Inside Out 2.”
