Fantastic Four Leads Discount Tuesday Box Office With $6.3 Million

Marvel’s new Fantastic Four reboot topped the U.S. box office on the traditional discount Tuesday, collecting an estimated $6.3 million, according to industry tracking services. The performance edged out Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s The Bad Guys 2, which added $4.02 million for a domestic cumulative haul of $28.5 million after 12 days in release. Paramount’s revival of The Naked Gun secured third place with $2.72 million, lifting its domestic total to $21.4 million. Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth continued its robust run with $1.47 million, pushing the dinosaur sequel’s North American tally to $320.3 million. Among other titles, NEON’s musical drama Together earned $1.27 million for a $13.1 million domestic total, while Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer added roughly $455,000 to reach $30.1 million. Overseas, Warner Bros.’ Superman reached $239 million in international receipts, bringing the superhero film’s global gross to $559.3 million through Tuesday.
