Zach Cregger’s horror film "Weapons" debuted strongly at the box office, grossing $42.5 million domestically during its opening weekend across 3,202 theaters. The film topped the box office, outperforming Disney’s sequel "Freakier Friday," which earned $29 million in the same period. Some reports suggest the film's total opening weekend revenue could be as high as $70 million. "Weapons" has been noted for its original story, combining disturbing and humorous elements, and has been described as a sleeper hit with a compelling premise that resolves its key questions by the end.
“Weapons.” Original story told in a creative and interesting way. Not scary but disturbing in parts. Surprisingly funny. I enjoyed it. Much better to have films like this dominating in the box office instead of Marvel or remake slop.
The sleeper-hit horror film “Weapons” has a distressing but undeniably hooky premise, David Sims argues—and its most daring aspect is that by the end it answers all of its big questions. https://t.co/pVwYgos8LN
Going to see Weapons tonight… Anyone see it yet?
