Kelly Osbourne accepted a marriage proposal from Slipknot turntablist Sid Wilson backstage at her father Ozzy Osbourne’s “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday, 5 July. Video released the following day shows Wilson dropping to one knee in front of family and friends moments before Black Sabbath closed its career-spanning set. Ozzy, seated nearby ahead of his final appearance with the original Black Sabbath line-up, jokingly shouted, “F--- off, you’re not marrying my daughter,” before applauding when Kelly nodded yes. The stadium event drew about 45,000 fans and marked the end of the 75-year-old singer’s touring career amid ongoing health problems. Wilson, 48, and Osbourne, 40, have been friends since Slipknot played Ozzfest in 1999 and began dating in 2022. They share a two-year-old son, Sidney. According to the couple, the 18-karat yellow-gold engagement ring, set with a 2.5-carat diamond, was custom-made by jeweller Mouawad and incorporates a bee motif that honours Osbourne’s late mentor Joan Rivers. The personal milestone punctuated a day that also reunited Ozzy with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for an emotional four-song Black Sabbath finale, capping a ten-hour heavy-metal celebration that featured Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Slayer. No wedding date has been announced.
