🚨 BREAKING: The weather service has issued a flood watch through 7 p.m. on Monday for Hill Country Texas.
A flood watch remains in effect through 7 p.m. on Monday for south-central Texas, including the Texas Hill Country, Kerr County, Burnet, Austin, San Antonio, and the I-35 corridor. The region has experienced heavy rainfall, with some areas such as Menard, Texas, receiving an estimated 3 to 5 inches of rain in a short period. Slow-moving storms are expected to continue throughout the day, increasing the risk of flash flooding and dangerous road conditions. The National Weather Service has placed parts of the Hill Country, including Kerr County, under a Moderate Risk (level 3 of 4) for flash flooding. Multiple flash flood warnings remain in effect for several counties in the Hill Country and Edwards Plateau. Meteorologists advise residents to stay alert as additional downpours could trigger further flooding despite expectations of reduced rainfall over the next 24 hours.
