The Texas Flood Relief Fund, created by TEGNA, has raised $224,570 to assist ongoing and long-term recovery efforts. Texas Governor Greg Abbott emphasized the state's unity in mourning and recovery, promoting the Central Texas Flood Recovery Fund. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is leading a donation drive to aid families who lost their homes. Additionally, Harlingen’s Black Bear Diner is providing support to flood victims. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is awarding nearly $2 million in emergency hardship grants to hospitals in Kerrville and Llano to cover unplanned expenses related to the floods. Community initiatives include a back-to-school supply drive organized by the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the City of Charleston, alongside the Charleston Police Department’s Junior Police Academy for middle schoolers across multiple counties.
