New story: While speculation about LeBron James continued to swirl, Bronny James punched the clock and went to work at the team practice facility Wednesday, telling reporters he believes the Lakers will improve next season https://t.co/7fxug38wGI
Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James said he pays little attention to the speculation surrounding where his father, LeBron James, will play next season. Speaking after a workout with the Lakers’ summer-league squad in El Segundo on Wednesday, the second-year guard told reporters he learns of most rumors second-hand and that his father advises him “not to worry about it.” The comments come as LeBron, 40, evaluates the Lakers’ off-season moves after opting into the final year of his contract, worth about $56.2 million. His agent, Rich Paul, has said no trade request has been made but confirmed that several clubs have expressed interest should the four-time champion seek a move. Bronny, drafted 55th overall last year, said his focus remains on preparing for the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League. “I think we’re going to come back even better than we were last year,” he added, declining to discuss any potential roster changes. The Lakers open their summer slate on July 10 against Dallas.
