Ben McLemore, a former NBA player who played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets, has been found guilty of raping a 21-year-old woman at a house party in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in 2021. The jury convicted McLemore on multiple charges, including first-degree rape, unlawful sexual penetration, and second-degree sexual abuse. The incident occurred at a lake house party attended by many of his then-teammates. McLemore was declared innocent of a fourth charge but was sentenced on July 9, 2025, to 100 months (just over eight years) in Oregon state prison. The case was tried over 11 days, and the victim was reportedly incapacitated during the assault. McLemore was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and last played professionally three years ago. The judge described the crime as disturbing, noting the victim was assaulted for hours and only regained consciousness in an intensive care unit. Investigators reportedly found evidence linking McLemore to other cases during the investigation.
