A one-of-a-kind trading card jointly featuring NBA legends Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant sold for $12.932 million at Heritage Auctions on Saturday night, setting a new record for the most expensive sports card ever sold. The 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card, graded PSA 6 and numbered 1-of-1, includes game-worn jersey logo patches from both players and their signatures. The price eclipses the $12.6 million fetched by a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card in August 2022 and makes the Jordan-Bryant piece the second-costliest sports collectible of any kind, trailing only Babe Ruth’s 1932 World Series “called shot” jersey, which changed hands for $24.12 million last year. Heritage said pre-sale estimates were just above $6 million. The seller, who had owned the card for more than a decade, rejected multiple private seven-figure offers before opting for the public auction. Heritage’s sports-auctions director Chris Ivy described the card as “the pinnacle” for modern basketball collectors, noting that no additional Jordan-Bryant dual Logoman cards exist. The winning bidder was not disclosed.

The buyer’s premium on a card like this could buy an entire high end collection. I get going to auction for the most eyeballs and best price, but could you get word out pretty widely on something like this for a private sale? But, this price probably proves me wrong. https://t.co/GHHMAsXKCW
