Oklahoma City on Wednesday released the first renderings of its planned $900 million downtown arena that will become the new home of the NBA-champion Thunder. Mayor David Holt presented the images during his annual State of the City address, confirming that the venue is scheduled to open in 2028 and replace the team’s current Paycom Center. Designed by Kansas City–based Manica Architecture, the concept features a 360-degree glass curtain wall providing concourse views of the city skyline, a wood-clad seating bowl, and expanded plazas linking the building to nearby Myriad Gardens. Construction will be managed by a Mortenson–Flintco joint venture, with final design details, including seating capacity and suite count, expected early next year.
