Bryce James, the younger son of NBA star LeBron James, has begun preseason workouts with the University of Arizona ahead of the 2025-26 men’s basketball campaign. Speaking after practice in Tucson, the 6-foot-4 freshman guard said he chose the Wildcats for the program’s fan atmosphere and the player-development focus of Head Coach Tommy Lloyd. James, who followed Arizona’s win over Duke last season before committing, is adjusting to the collegiate game’s pace and physicality—citing a hard screen from teammate Tobe Awaka as his “welcome to Arizona” moment. He added that advice from his father and from older brother Bronny, now with the Los Angeles Lakers after a year at USC, centers on staying positive through mistakes and maintaining consistent effort. Arizona will give fans a first look at its new roster, including James, during the annual Red-Blue Showcase at McKale Center on Oct. 3.
