Utah State Picked 9th in Mountain West; Larsen Gains Third Preseason Nod

The Mountain West Conference released its 2025 preseason media poll and all-conference team on 16 July. Utah State was projected to finish ninth in the 12-team league, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the program after an off-season of roster turnover and a coaching change under Bronco Mendenhall. Safety Ike Larsen was the Aggies’ lone representative on the 28-player preseason All-Mountain West team, marking his third consecutive appearance. Larsen, a senior from Cache Valley, finished the 2024 campaign with 80 tackles and a team-high nine pass break-ups. Boise State dominated the selections, placing 10 players on the squad and seeing junior quarterback Maddux Madsen voted preseason Offensive Player of the Year. San Diego State edge rusher Trey White was tapped as Defensive Player of the Year.
