The Big 12 Conference on Monday released its 2025 preseason all-conference football team and individual honors, installing Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt as Offensive Player of the Year, Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez as Defensive Player of the Year and Utah transfer quarterback Devon Dampier as Newcomer of the Year. Defending league champion Arizona State led all programs with five selections to the 29-player squad, while UCF and Arizona were shut out. Colorado placed two players—offensive lineman Jordan Seaton and defensive back DJ McKinney—on the list. The lineup was chosen by media covering the conference. The announcement sets the agenda for Big 12 Football Media Days, which open Tuesday and Wednesday at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters in Frisco, Texas. Commissioner Brett Yormark will deliver a state-of-the-conference address before coaches and players from all 16 schools rotate through interviews. Both days will air live on ESPNU and stream on ESPN+, with segments also on ESPN2.
