College football programs have begun naming the players who will accompany their head coaches to the two major preseason media events later this month. The Southeastern Conference’s Media Days run 14-17 July in Atlanta, and the league on 8 July released the full list of student-athlete representatives. Texas will put sophomore quarterback Arch Manning in front of reporters alongside linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and defensive back Michael Taaffe. Alabama is sending defensive tackle Tim Keenan III, linebacker Deontae Lawson and offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, while Oklahoma’s trio features quarterback John Mateer, safety Robert Spears-Jennings and defensive end R. Mason Thomas. Texas A&M will close the four-day event on 17 July with graduate right guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams, junior linebacker Taurean York and senior cornerback Will Lee III. The SEC schedule places LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt on the first day, with Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas following, then Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State and Oklahoma, before Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri and Texas A&M wrap up proceedings. Attention will shift north the following week when the Atlantic Coast Conference stages its ACC Kickoff on 22-23 July in Charlotte. Virginia plans to bring quarterback Chandler Morris, defensive tackle Jahmeer Carter, offensive lineman Noah Josey and defensive end Mitchell Melton, while Florida State has selected new transfer quarterback Tommy Castellanos, guard Richie Leonard IV, defensive lineman Darrell Jackson Jr. and safety Earl Little Jr. Wake Forest and Duke will also send four players each. The announcements give an early look at the athletes schools are positioning as team leaders ahead of the 2025 college-football season.
