ESPN has overhauled its "Monday Night Football" sideline lineup, promoting Laura Rutledge to a full-time role alongside long-time reporter Lisa Salters. Rutledge, who intermittently filled in for Salters last season, will work every game with play-by-play announcer Joe Buck and analyst Troy Aikman. Salters, the longest-tenured sideline reporter in MNF history, has signed a multiyear contract extension that will carry her into a 14th season. The network is also adding Katie George and Peter Schrager to cover five crossover games, including the four weeks featuring MNF doubleheaders and the Week 18 Saturday twin bill. The expanded roster comes as the current MNF doubleheader format is expected to stay in place until the U.S. Department of Justice rules on a new NFL media agreement, a process that could take up to two years. The move gives Rutledge two full seasons with the lead crew before ESPN carries its first Super Bowl broadcast at the end of the 2026 NFL season.
