The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said it carried out 17 coordinated assaults across Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province overnight in an offensive it calls Operation “Baam,” meaning “dawn” in the local language. The attacks targeted military checkpoints, government offices and communications infrastructure stretching from the Makran coast to the Koh-i-Sulaiman range. Local media including Dawn reported a grenade blast in Turbat that wounded five civilians—women and a child among them—while similar incidents were logged in Sibi and Harnai. Separately, BLF-aligned sources circulated footage of fighters overrunning a military camp in Surab, and the Baloch Liberation Army confirmed the death of one of its Fateh Squad members during the clashes. Authorities have not released a formal casualty tally, but internet services were cut in Kech and neighbouring Panjgur districts as security forces pursued the attackers. The BLF described the raids as the opening phase of a renewed push for Baloch self-determination, a long-running insurgency fueled by grievances over resource control and alleged rights abuses in the mineral-rich province.
