Turkey and Pakistan have reached a landmark agreement allowing Turkish companies to conduct offshore oil and natural gas exploration in Pakistani territorial waters for the first time. The announcement was made by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a joint press conference with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad. The deal involves cooperation between the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and three Pakistani firms, marking a significant development in bilateral energy ties. In addition to energy collaboration, both countries aim to boost their trade volume to $5 billion and expand defense relations.
