Kalshi Inc., the regulated prediction-market exchange, has appointed 23-year-old crypto entrepreneur and influencer John Wang as its first Head of Crypto, underscoring the firm’s plan to broaden trading in digital-asset-linked event contracts. Wang founded blockchain-security start-up Armor Labs—later sold to another company—after leaving the University of Pennsylvania, and has since advised several crypto ventures while building a large online following for markets commentary. Kalshi Chief Executive Officer Tarek Mansour said he first noticed Wang through his writings on X. The hire comes amid intensifying competition among U.S. prediction platforms as they seek new revenue streams and users through cryptocurrency integrations. Kalshi, which won Commodity Futures Trading Commission approval to list event contracts in 2021, is betting that deeper ties to the digital-asset community will accelerate volume growth and product expansion.
