Chris Buescher pits for his engine woes. The No. 17 team is replacing the ECU. #NASCAR
An unfortunate development for one of the favorites in this afternoon's competition. The No. 17 team is attempting to diagnose engine issues on @Chris_Buescher's car. https://t.co/v6dOxki70q
Chris Buescher’s bid for a strong finish in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race was interrupted when the RFK Racing No. 17 Ford developed an engine-related power problem while running fifth under a red-flag period at Lap — the sanctioning body did not immediately release the lap count. After an initial electronic power reset failed to restore full performance, the team called Buescher to pit road and swapped the car’s electronic control unit (ECU). The unscheduled stop dropped the driver from the top five and left his crew assessing whether the fix would allow him to regain lost track position once green-flag racing resumed.
