IndyCar called off all on-track activity at Iowa Speedway on Friday after tornado warnings were issued for the Newton, Iowa, area. The first practice session for the 0.894-mile oval was scheduled to begin at 2:35 p.m. Central Time, but officials placed the session on hold as funnel clouds were spotted nearby. After a wait of roughly 90 minutes, series organizers announced that the remainder of Friday’s program—including a second practice run—was cancelled. A revised timetable will be released for the rest of the double-header weekend, with track action now slated to resume on Saturday.
