A powerful storm struck the resort town of Sinaia and the Prahova Valley in Romania on July 9, 2025, causing widespread damage and disruptions. The storm uprooted numerous trees and electricity poles, and the roof of the Sinaia train station was torn off by strong winds. As a result, traffic on the DN1 road near the station was restricted, and rail traffic was halted, with 11 trains blocked. The storm injured at least 14 people, including 11 who were hospitalized at Sinaia Hospital, among them foreign tourists, with one person reported in critical condition.
