Russia has added more than 210,000 contract soldiers to its regular forces since the start of 2025, Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said after a meeting of the council’s Interdepartmental Commission on military staffing. Medvedev added that volunteer formations accepted a further 18,000 people over the same period.
