Russia said it is prepared to show flexibility on several issues raised by U.S. President Donald Trump during this week’s summit with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, according to comments carried by state-run news agency RIA Novosti and reiterated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The overture follows a meeting that saw Trump align himself more closely with Putin’s positions than with those of Washington’s European allies, diplomats familiar with the discussions said. Neither side disclosed details of the specific points under review, but Lavrov’s remarks signal a potential opening for further negotiations after months of tension over security and trade.
