Retired Wales forward Gareth Bale has backed Real Madrid to defeat Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday’s Club World Cup semifinal, saying the team under head coach Xabi Alonso is “preparing to be ferocious.” Speaking to DAZN in comments relayed by RMC Sport, Bale predicted Madrid would prevail despite PSG’s strong season and described the match as the dawn of “a new era” for the Spanish giants. Bale, who won five Champions League titles during his nine-year spell at the Bernabéu, added that Barcelona and the rest of world football should be “warned” about the threat posed by Alonso’s side. The remarks come as Alonso, appointed in June, seeks to add another international trophy to Real Madrid’s collection and reinforce his early momentum in charge.
