FC Barcelona closed its three-match Asian pre-season tour in encouraging fashion on Monday, racing to a 3-0 halftime lead against K-League strugglers Daegu FC at Daegu Stadium. Midfielder Gavi struck twice, first from a Lamine Yamal cut-back and then with a deft chip from Jules Koundé’s pass, while Robert Lewandowski added the other goal from a Gerard Martín cross. Head coach Hansi Flick handed a senior start to 17-year-old Spaniard Dro Fernández and again relied on 16-year-old winger Lamine Yamal, whose dribbling and vision continued to stand out after an impressive tour. The fixture is Barcelona’s last tune-up before returning to Spain for the 12 August Joan Gamper Trophy, where the club expects to have resolved the salary-cap space needed to register five unlisted players. Barcelona had already beaten Vissel Kobe and FC Seoul earlier on the trip, giving Flick three straight victories as he refines the side ahead of its La Liga opener on 16 August at Mallorca.
