FC Barcelona will be without Robert Lewandowski for Sunday’s Joan Gamper Trophy against Como 1907 after the club said the striker is nursing discomfort in the biceps femoris of his left leg. Medical staff have not set a recovery timetable, leaving the team unsure whether its top scorer will be fit for the start of the new La Liga season. Midfielder Dani Olmo also trained apart from the group on Saturday because of muscle soreness, further limiting coach Hansi Flick’s attacking options. The injury news comes as UEFA handed down disciplinary measures stemming from Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Inter Milan. The European governing body suspended Flick for one match for his behaviour in the second-leg defeat and fined Lewandowski and 17-year-old forward Lamine Yamal €5,000 apiece for arriving late to a post-match anti-doping test. Flick will serve the ban in the club’s next European fixture. With Lewandowski sidelined and Flick confined to the stands once continental play resumes, Barcelona are expected to turn to Ferran Torres or new signing Marcus Rashford to lead the line in the Gamper, the club’s final pre-season outing at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
