West Ham United have turned down a £50 million offer from Tottenham Hotspur for forward Mohammed Kudus, according to multiple reports on 3 July. The Ghana international, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season, remains under a long-term contract at the London Stadium, and West Ham are understood to be reluctant to sanction a sale unless their valuation is met. Tottenham’s setback in pursuit of Kudus follows a separate blow in defence after Everton secured centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite on a new deal running to 2030. Branthwaite had been a leading candidate to replace Cristian Romero should the Argentine depart, but Everton rejected previous enquiries and have now more than doubled the 23-year-old’s pay to keep him at Goodison Park.
