Everton have completed the signing of 22-year-old France Under-21 striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal, strengthening manager David Moyes’s forward options ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season. The Merseyside club said the fee is undisclosed, but sources close to the negotiations put the initial payment at about £27 million (€32 million) with additional performance-related bonuses. Barry passed a medical on Merseyside on Wednesday and signed a four-year contract that keeps him at Goodison Park until 2029. Barry scored 11 goals and provided four assists in La Liga last term, his first season with Villarreal after moving from Basel in 2024. Moyes described the 6ft 5in forward as a player with “lots of potential”, adding that Everton “hope to make further additions in the coming weeks” as the club reshapes its squad.
