Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini on 14 August launched a self-custody smart wallet and accompanying on-chain dashboard, expanding its services beyond traditional exchange custody. The product forms part of the company’s new Onchain Hub and is available immediately to Gemini’s global user base. Built on ZeroDev’s open smart-account architecture and supported by Offchain Labs, the wallet gives users a single address across every Ethereum Virtual Machine–compatible network. It also adds biometric authentication through Face ID, Touch ID and Windows Hello, and promises gas-optimised transactions on each chain. At launch the wallet connects to Gauntlet-curated USDC yield vaults on the Morpho protocol deployed on the Arbitrum layer-2 network, allowing customers to earn on-chain returns directly from the Gemini interface. The exchange says the integrations are aimed at lowering technical barriers and bringing the next wave of retail investors into decentralised finance.
