Google has started deploying a new “Manage subscriptions” view in Gmail, giving users a centralized place to review all newsletters and marketing emails and cancel them with a single click. The tab presents active subscriptions ranked by how often each sender emails the user and displays the number of messages received in recent weeks. Selecting a sender shows every message from that address, and pressing “Unsubscribe” triggers Gmail to send an opt-out request or, if required, redirects the user to the sender’s site. The tool builds on Gmail’s existing filters, which the company says already block 99.9% of spam, phishing and malware. The feature is live on the web version now and will reach Android on 14 July and iOS on 21 July. Roll-out is gradual and covers personal Google accounts, Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers in selected countries. “With Gmail’s new ‘Manage subscriptions’ feature, you can view and manage your subscription emails, making it easy to unsubscribe from the ones you no longer want — all from a single place,” Chris Doan, director of Gmail, wrote in the company’s announcement.
