Google has updated its AI-powered notetaking app, NotebookLM, to allow users to share notebooks and AI-generated podcasts publicly via a simple link. Previously, sharing required entering individual email addresses and setting permissions, but now users can select the 'Share' button and set access to 'Anyone with the link,' streamlining the process. Viewers of public notebooks cannot edit the source content but can interact with the material by asking questions, exploring AI-generated summaries, listening to audio overviews—including those from the Gemini app—and reading FAQs. Users can also view studio artifacts previously generated by notebook owners or editors. A Google account is required to access public notebooks, which appear on the user's homepage and are marked with a globe icon. Paid subscribers receive usage analytics, and notebook owners can revoke or restrict public access at any time. Once a public notebook is deleted or made private, the share link becomes inactive. The update is available across web and mobile platforms, including Android and iOS.
Notebooks can now be public in @NotebookLM. Just hit “share” and set the access to “anyone with the link.” Easy-peasy. Share ideas, study guides and team docs, and your peers can explore, ask questions, get instant summaries and audio overviews. https://t.co/YogadP3hV2
NotebookLM allows sharing notebooks publicly. Very useful. Here is my notebook with the entire Carnegie Nuclear Policy conference https://t.co/E8j2tYIY5a https://t.co/XcPyRpPbvg
Many people who use @NotebookLM already share their notebooks with classmates, coworkers, students and friends — so today we're introducing an easier way to share your notebooks publicly with a simple link. https://t.co/N9FvGaHHoB
